Essential Learning for web development

Igalaxi Web Design Study Tips

I believe it is essential to learn how to work with tabled layouts and also how to work with layered layouts .

The difference between layers and tables is that you cannot have a centered or stretchy layout if you use layers , however layers do offer alot more flexibility when it comes to positioning of graphics and text . Learn both , so you can decide which style you prefer.

Learning how to do navigation bars is the next step for me as a designer , i have acquired the skill to do centred table layouts and have worked with layers aswell , I believe a tabled layout to be of more value for the reason of being centred .

I am able to do simple and creative buttons however have not yet dabbled into navigation bars .

In 2008 Igalaxi aims to take its design skills to the next level by taking the following action.

Photoshop Study , online course for graphic design on the web.
Learn navigation bar code and structure
Develop a Tabled Centered Stretchy website which uses a navigation bar.

Things I have learned about design concepts

Firstly id like to mention the use of CSS style sheets when it comes to webdesign , I have found these to be one of the most important aspects of a basic page design , it save hours of time because the text is automatically formatted how you want when you are typing , it allows for creative links and is a great way to do hyperlinks which are fast loading and look professional .

I have found that it is best to work with 800 X 600 layout and build the entire site around this concept , Igalaxi web design uses 800 x 600 layout in 90% of projects , it is versatile and alows a great view on almost any monitor .

Colours - web colours should usually be kept to a minimum , i find that dark text on a light background is professional and sometimes less is more .

This is the first blog for Igalaxi web design with many more to come , thank you for reading.
